Q: My projector powers up and the menu works, but I do not have an image or there is no picture on the screen, but the image shows up on the monitor.

A:

  • Make sure the lens cap is not on.
  • Check your projector to make sure the right source is selected. You can use the projector menu button to scroll through sources.
  • Try turning off the local display or your laptop. To do this on most laptops, press and hold the function key (labeled "FN") while pressing the key that's labeled "LCD/Monitor" or has a picture of a monitor above it. You may do this repeatedly to toggle through the different options on the laptop. (I.E. LCD On/Output Off, LCD Off/Output On)
  • Check the computer's refresh rate and make sure you are not running the computer at a refresh rate that may be too high for the projector, but not too high for your local monitor. The projectors specifications are listed in the user’s manual.
